I know, It's been a while...

I've been one busy momma so I am going to have to apologize right now due to the lack of posts. So, what's been going on lately?

*I had skin cancer; I had the cancer removed; the cancer is gone & it did not spread.
*My best friend is getting married; I went to New Orleans for her bachelorette party; Her wedding shower was Sunday.
*Family Photos
*Harper is NINE months! Where has time gone?!

Okay, so I did have cancer after all, but nothing to worry about and it is all gone. It was a little frightening at first though, hearing the word 'cancer' is never a good thing. Basil Cell Carcinoma is fortunately the most common and they assured me that it was nothing to be concerned about. I feel much better, just remember people- tanning is bad! I regret tanning so much in high school, and when H decides that is something she thinks she may want to do I am going to show her the huge scar on my neck. I'm just glad that's over with! I have another full body scan in December and I'm praying that they do not find any other areas to be concerned about.

My best friend is getting married next month!! We had a fun-filled weekend in New Orleans, and it was amazing to experience. I definitely want to go back and do a little more sight seeing. The bars on Bourbon were a blast, and it's a weekend that I will never forget. I missed my baby but I got a lot of face time in so it helped me feel a little less anxious. I was most definitely ready to get home on Sunday, though. Did I mention we drove NINE hours to get there and home? Next time I'll be flying. ;)

Photos from the weekend &...melanoma...

Let's start with the second topic first, shall we?

Before I touch base on my recent issues I want to say that this is definitely something that I've put off for quite some time, and not something I've discussed with anyone really at all.

I've had a 'growth' or 'lesion' on my neck for over three years now. Insanity, I know. When I got pregnant it grew, and just recently it has continued to grow, practically taking over my neck. (Not really, but that is what it felt like to me). After my mom (gotta love moms) was constantly telling me how worried she was, I finally went to the dermatologist. I'm sure you're probably thinking "What the hell, Whitney? Why did you put it off for so long?" The simple answer is, I was scared, so scared of the outcome that I just didn't want to face it, whether good or bad.

Luckily, my husband was off work and he agreed to go with me for support. We show up yesterday to this cute little building made of glass (not really, but it had a ton of windows) and I check myself in. I'm called back not too long after, the hubs stayed in the waiting room to wait on me. The PA comes in and she is the sweetest thing. She made me feel so reassured when she said that by looking at it, she thought it was nothing to worry about, however, she was going to do a biopsy upon removal to be certain. So now, we play the waiting game. It's not the biting your nails, heavy chest, anxious wait though, I'm now feeling incredibly confident. Prayers to the big guy and fingers crossed that she was correct!

The weekend...

The hubs went out of town this weekend so it was a lot of Harper and mommy time. A little selfie...

I put my house on the market. After almost six years of nothing but repair after repair we are finally ready to move. It's bittersweet, I bought the house when I was just 21 so there are a lot of memories. We are ready for something a little bigger though.


Let's hope it sells soon!

I managed to go to the gym six days last week. I ran roughly 17 miles and walked (my cool down time) 5 1/2. Losing the baby weight has not been easy, but I am working hard to get to where I want to be. I love my daughter more than anything, but pregnancy was no fun for this mommy. I am going to be completely honest and tell you that this was my character in "What to expect when you're expecting"...

Getting this body back has not been a walk in the park, but we're getting there, slowly but surely. Even though pregnancy sucked for me, it was totally worth it. I'm not an asshole, I'm just honest. We'll see how well it goes this week.

Why I chose to start blogging...

I decided to take the plunge and start blogging after years upon years of reading several different blogs. I've always loved them, but never made the decision on whether or not I should start. I also want something for my daughter to look back on. I need a creative outlet, and this is it. This is going to be real, this is going to be me, sarcastic, and true as can be. (That was not necessarily intended to rhyme, but what the hell, I'll leave it.)
